My Best Days on the Lanes - 2007

What makes for a good day. I consider that if I bowl a game of 250 or better or a series of 700 or better or Average 220 or better during a session, I have achieved some sort of special success for that day's activities. So I am keeping track of those days in this section.  I never want to take for granted, that I have bowled such scores.  I started back bowling in October of  2006 using my old Ebonite Tornado.  By using reactive resin modern bowling balls I finally bowled a game higher than 250 on December 20, 2006.  I bowled my 50th such game on June 19, 2007.  A sanctioned 289 game was achieved March 1, 2007 and a series of 792 was accomplished on May 29, 2007.  I have highlighted the special achievements of games over 275, series over 750 and sessions with an average of 235 or higher.  I look forward to bowling some games in the 290s and of course the Perfect 300 Game, and achieving a series of 800 or better would be a milestone.  Doing either or both under sanctioned conditions would be an extra special achievement.

9-4-07 Bowler City Finished well in 10 games bowled. Had front 8 strikes in 252 games and then left a tough spare and chopped it. 252 252-232-226 = 710  
9-7-07 Bowler City Started new League season last night with a 653 series and today shot 263 with the last nine and then the first strike in the next game for 10 in a row using Resurgence. 263    
9-16-07 Southland Bowl Lexington, KY Bowled in Kentucky and finally able to bowl a good game.  Had the first eight strikes. 268    
9-17-07 Southland Bowl Lexington, KY I seemed to bowl well on Lane 1 at Southland Bowl 259 214-259-238 = 711  
9-19-07 Southland Bowl Lexington, KY Once again on Lane 1 but i was really hot this time.  This was a solid effort in Kentucky on lanes I am not used to. 257-255 257-255-234 = 746  
9-22-07 Southland Bowl Lexington, KY The 259 was part of a 699 series.  It was a 10 strike game with 2 nine pin raps. 259    
9-27-07 Bowler City

League 603 series followed by a three game practice session with a 731 series and a 250 game.  The end of the 250 game followed by the start of the 234 game had 12 strikes in a row.

 During the Keeneland November Sale I was able to get in some bowling and had this exactly 700 series   238-235-227 = 700

11-26-07 Bowler City With a good full push away and good finger spread and all the fine points in order, I was able to bowl well towards the end of this session. 258 217-236-258 = 711

Sometimes it can take a game or two to warm up and get my hand properly into the ball. Bowled 8 with my repaired Resurgence ball games which were 163-184-223-247-215-227-237-289

12-2-07 Fairlawn Bowl I continue to bowl well with my new timing.  In this 8 game set of 215-191-213-268-225-175-208-248 I am able to achieve my high game goals and high series goals. 268 213-268-225 = 706  
12-4-07 Parkway Lanes I tried a new establishment because of the fire at Bowler's City. It took sometime to get the lay of the lanes as they say but my last game was 258. 258    
12-9-07 Fairlawn Bowl In the fourth game of an 8 game session, I bowled 264 closing that game with the final 10 strikes. 264

I returned to a higher hand position for my push away after trying a lower position for about 10 days.  This game had 10 strikes in it.

I had a strong 10 game session on Senior's Day. I did not warm up because I arrived close to the start Senior starting time.  I got out of a tight thumb hole all day very well due to hand positions.  The 10 games were 190-247-193-205-236-249-203-265-237-234.
