Turn-to is the great great grandsire of Devil His Due. Turn-to was the Co-Highweighted Colt as a Two Year Old of 1953 and the Highweighted Colt at Three in 1954. In a short eight race career, Turn-to won six races, The Garden State Stakes, The Saratoga Special, The Flamingo Stakes, two allowance races and a maiden race. Turn-to was second in an allowance race and third in the Hopeful Stakes, a race in which he bucked his shins. Turn-to is a son of Royal Charger who was by Nearco out of a half sister to Nasrullah. His dam was a half sister to Ambiorix and a half sister to the dam of My Babu. Turn-to truly had a sire's pedigree to go with his superb race record and fabulous physical appearance. Hail To Reason was Champion Two Year Old of 1960 winning the Youthful, Great American, Sanford, Sapling and Hopeful Stakes (by 10 lengths while setting a track record) while earning $328,434 before a fractured sesamoid ended his career. Hail To Reason was impeccably bred, being out of Acorn Stakes winner Nothirdchance. As a sire Hail To Reason was an immediate success.
