Movies Movies are something that seems to be
part of so many of our lives. Various films provided various things to
various people. Among some of the movies I have recently seen, I can
tell you that "Maid in Manhattan" makes you feel good, "Bowling for
Columbine" makes you think, and Die Another Day makes you excited,
Gangs of New York really delivers the power of fine film making and acting,
especially by Daniel-Day Lewis, and so on. You will see some good acting in
The Hours from everyone in the movie although I do not feel it compares with
the best pictures of the year. The Pianist is another one of the
remarkable films of 2002 and Adrian Brody could certainly win best actor in
this Roman Polanski masterpiece.
Then there is Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers, a truly
exceptional film version of part of J.R.R. Tolkien influential literary
masterpiece. Although I had my own strong opinions after
enjoying the first film of the trilogy, the Fellowship of the Rings, I found
the second installment a step up from the first film.
Never having read "The Lord of the Rings" I found some
information that I would like to share with you about this epic film
masterpiece. It would seem that among the nominees for
best film of 2002 will be Gangs of New York, The Pianist, Lord of the Rings
- The Two Towers and quite possibly My Big Fat Greek Wedding which played
for 35 weeks and is a truly funny film. Call me anytime
and we can chat about movies if you like. I mean what is a good
bloodstock agent really for, if he cannot provide some insight into a
variety of subjects. |
