In the Westchester Handicap-G3 at Aqueduct, Najran defeated Saarland,  Justification, Gander, Regal Sanction, Bowman’s Band and Saint Appeal by an easy 4 1/2 lengths in a World Record Equaling mile on the dirt run in 1:32.24 joining the immortal Dr. Fager who set the record more than a quarter century before.  Najran closed out his career with a dazzling performance in the Phoenix Breeders' Cup Stakes-G3.  Another outstanding effort by Najran was his second place finish to Sprint Champion Aldebaran at Saratoga in the Forego Handicap-G1 in which he defeated . 

Najran won at 6, 7, 8 and 9 furlongs showing his versatility and won 7 of his 15 starts with 2 seconds and 1 third, recording total earnings of $483,448.  Many breeders think that milers make the best sires.  You really have to pick them up and put them down to run a time as fast as Dr. Fager's World Record.  You just cannot find a on the dirt that could run like Najran.
