I always like to take pictures of people when I
travel. Their faces are really the personality of the culture. I like
taking pictures of the local people of all ages. Very often I get some
really excellent shots of elderly people. One of the many musicians in
this famous Marrakech fast paced spot was this older man entertaining
passers by with his drum solo. He didn't exactly perform like Ringo
Starr but it was interesting to say the least.
When visiting this famous square in Marrakech, you are
expected to give some tips to the performers. In Morocco, the average annual
income is only about $2,500 per year and there is quite a bit of
unemployment. Poverty is one of the biggest problems in the world
today and a primary cause of world problems. It is actually a tenant
of Islam to give part of your income to the poor.
A Jewish comedian and philosopher named Sam Levenson
related about his family "That we gave to the poor regularly. It made
us feel rich." We are all pretty much the same. It is the world
leaders that have so much trouble. People are people the world over.
