Doni Tondo (Holy Family with
the Infant St. John the Baptist) by Michelangelo Buonarroti, Galleria degli
Uffizi, Florence, Italy. Rightly considered to be the the most
important and enigmatic painting of the 16th century, the Doni Tondo is the
only example of Michelangelo's painting preserved in Florence, and the ONLY
painting on a movable support which can definitely be attributed to the
